![]() ![]() Ribbon cable is hooked up with red line in same direction as notches on chips (towards harness connections). Ostrich 2.0 that talks to laptop (running XP pro SP3) PM6 chipped ECU that works with burned chip. I'm bringing back an old thread since I have this same problem and can't find an answer. having to tune it the old fashion way is a real pain, (having to write things down, then removing, burning chip, putting it back see if it worked etc ) Just to reiterate, car runs fine with just a basemap, but i really want to tune it. ![]() I am NOT using a ZIF with my ostrich (that's why i got another chipped ECU just for tuning), per MOATES instructions.Īny ideas? should I just contact moates, and maybe ask him to send me another one? would he (based on customer service)? I am starting to think, half of the ostrich works, and the other half which sends the data to the ECU doesn't. I am not altering the basemap or anything.ĮCU possibly chipped bad: it can't be, when i first tried it, i tried it with my own chipped ecu, then stupid me broke a leg off the ribbon cable, that ecu still works to this day, it is currently in use. No matter how many different ways I send the ROM, my ecu has a solid CEL as if it were not chip in it.īTW: if i put my old chipped ECU in there, with the same exact basemap I am sending, car runs like everyday (DD). It seems the problem is between the ostrich and ECU.
